Feature and Follow Friday #8

Wow so I haven't done one of these for AGES. I've been procrastinating, I guess.

This week's featured blogger is:

How do you handle a book you don't like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

Well, since I've been reading lots lately, a lot of plots have been repeating for me and I get faced with this situation more that I'd like. I really try to appreciate books. So I usually end up enjoying a plot enough to finish it.

If I really hate it that much, I usually procrastinate on it, you know, surfing the net, reading other books and watching TV shows, but I usually pull myself through to the end. There are a few books, of course that I've completely given up on. But they are very few. And I usually stop with the intent to try again some time in the future. I never throw books out for this reason.

  1. I often suffer through DNF guilt. The longer I wait after reading a book, the more I think "Hey, it wasn't THAT bad" and then I read a little more..and it really is that bad.

  2. I used to power through that book and finish it no matter what. Although there is to many books on my TBR list, but still I want that chapter to be closed.

  3. I also do my best to not DNF a book. Lately though, I find myself doing it more because of how limited my time is. I just can't read every good AND bad book out there, so if I don't like it I might DNF it! :) Bloglovin, Twitter and GFC follower.

  4. I procrastinate on books to if I'm not enjoying them, but if I completely hate it then no! But it takes a lot for me to completely hate a book!

I try and power through books, but when I start to zone out while reading its time to DNF!

  6. I always follow through on books because I don't know if there's something better later! I'm a bloglovin follower.

  7. Wooo, you're a teen blogger! Me too! (PS: I'm not a stalker, just read your bio, haha. :P)

I do DNF books if I'm REALLY not enjoying them - but I have to be seriously not enjoying them to be able to put them down. And of course I do feel guilty afterwards. >.> New follower via GFC!

  8. I used to suffer DNF guilt but now I just don't have the time. I read to relax and struggling through something I don't like isn't fun for me. Now I will give a book 50-100 pages as I have plenty of other reads I'm excited to start.
